I ate a turnip

I know, I know, not the most riveting news to return from my unexpected hiatus, but it was notable to me. I'd never eaten one before, but was looking around the produce section for something to roast with chicken and shallots and fennel, and threw it in my basket on a whim. They're delicious, it turns out, and not at all deserving of their bland reputation.

Agreed, Sara my friend. I throw turnips into a lot of vegetable dishes, when I actually get around to cooking. My darling boyfriend usually has to ask the produce people what they look like, though, when I ask him to pick them up at the store.

Very brave, indeed! Are you ready to consider, how about ... CREAMED turnips? Delicious!

Absolutely. How could you go wrong with cream?

I felt the same way the first time I had a parsnip. I think it might be time to give the creamed turnips a try. I love your blogs!
